What Type Of Massage
Should I Get?
You can choose which type of massage you want or in your
first session we will decide which therapies will be
best for you. Each session is tailored to suit your
individual needs.
Neuromuscular Therapy
Neuromuscular Therapy is an advanced clinical approach
to massage therapy. NMT searches out patterns of pain
and locates the source. Tissues are restored to health
and normal function. NMT breaks the pain cycle within
the nervous system and brings lasting relief to chronic
pain and injury. This treatment includes careful observation
and evaluation of posture and movement patterns followed
by specific and thorough manipulation of muscles, tendons,
ligaments, and fascia to release contracted tissue, increase
circulation, erase trigger points, reduce nerve entrapment,
and help correct postural distortion. This technique is
very effective in the treatment of pain due to injury,
stress, repetitive strain, postural distortion, post
surgical syndromes and chronic neuromuscular conditions.
Orthopedic & Sports Injury
A variety of techniques
are used to help with the recovery from accidents or
injury including facial release, myoskelatal alignment,
and cyriax cross fiber friction. Helping to restore normal
range of motion and facilitate the healing process.
Swedish Massage Therapy
Swedish is the most common type of massage. Specific
strokes and pressure are used to release a dysfunctional
holding pattern. It includes long strokes, kneading and
friction techniques on the more superficial layers of
the muscles, combined with active and passive movements
of the joints. This therapy promotes general relaxation,
improves blood circulation and range of motion, and relieves
muscle tension. Soothing strokes leave your mind
and body feeling renewed and relaxed.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue massage releases the chronic patterns of
tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger
pressure on the contracted areas, either following or
going across the grain of muscles, tendons and fascia.
It focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. Stretching
and joint mobilization are used to help increase fluidity
of movement.
Raindrop Aromatherapy
A Massage treatment using pure essential oils to assist
in clearing out of toxins, releasing the spine and
deeply relaxing the mind and body. Oils are applied
to each side of the spine and worked in as gently or
deeply as you like. Aromatherapy is the
use of essential oils for their curative and rejuvenating
effects. Dating back to ancient Egypt, India, and the
Far East, this simple therapy has been used for centuries
to reduce stress and tension, refresh and invigorate
the body, soothe emotions, and clear the mind. When
inhaled the aroma directly affects the limbic area
of the brain that is related to emotions and memories. A
full body massage is included in this treatment.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle non-invasive
technique which allows the central nervous system to
relax and return to a state of balance after expereincing
stress shock or trauma. This therapy allows the body
to maximize it's healing potential. To Read More About

The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage
Maya Abdominal Massage is a non-invasive, external
massage technique. It guides internal abdominal organs,
focused on the uterus, into their proper position for
optimum health and well-being. The uterus is held in
position by over 10 ligaments. Ligaments, when stressed
or strained cause the uterus to become mal-positioned.
If the uterus is mal-positioned, women experience a multitude
of symptoms. Maya massage improves organ function by
releasing physical and emotional congestion from the
abdomen. For more information see The
Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage page.
